His daughter, Linda Fast writes, "This was Dad's first service station, it was up near the Peace Arch Park before the freeway went in.  We used to walk down and visit him during the day and he'd give us ice cream, we lived on B Street close to where Johnny and Nina lived.  The Peace Arch park was our playground."
