James G. Meek conducted the census interviews in Marietta on June
29, 1900. He found four members of the Finnson family, Peter,
Mary, six year old daughter Bena and 9 month old Gillis living in the family home.
While Mr. Meek did his best to get his facts accurately on paper, it
seems he determined that Peter and Mary weren't Icelanders who arrived
in North America in 1890, but Norwegians who arrived in 1891.
